Ethiopia
History
Ethiopia’s name came from the first king of Ethiopia. Ethiopia has never been colonized (taken over) by any country. Ethiopia has been here for 3000 years. On the 11th October 1897 the original version of the Ethiopian flag was made. It was updated on 31 October 1996 and modified 16 May 2009.
Language
There are five official languages in Ethiopia. The most commonly spoken is Amharic. In Amharic to count to ten is Ahnd/1 Hulet/2 sost/3 arat/4 amist/5 sidist/6 sabat/7 simint/8 zeten/9 aser/10.
Flag
The Ethiopia flag color goes green at the top then yellow and red. And there’s a star on the side and a little line on each side. The star represents unity for all Ethiopia and the blue stands for peace yellow for hope, justice and equality green is equated with labor, development.
Food
Ethiopia’s popular food is doro wot which is chicken with soup, firfir is some bread cut up, tie hilo is a little chicken in a pot, pasta beu is pasta with some dry white flakes on it, atkilt is potato with some vegetable and some chicken, asa is chicken. Sambusas is a triangle with any filling inside, fatira is basically bread. Tibs is a tub of chicken, and there are many more.
